Children and Young People’s Development Worker and Advocate
Healthwatch Northumberland helps people of all ages and all backgrounds (including children and young people) to have their say about how local health and social care services should be delivered (e.g. GPs, hospitals, opticians, dentists, chemists and care homes). We listen to people’s feedback (good and bad) about services which you have used and report this back to those in charge of planning, providing and delivering them so they can make improvements, where needed. Furthermore, we offer support to people who need it to make a complaint about an NHS Service that they have used through our “Independent Complaints Advocacy Northumberland” (ICAN) service. You can put in a complaint yourself or with the support of an adult (e.g. a parent) and/or one of our advocates. Healthwatch Northumberland also has a “Children and Young People’s Reference Group” and we are always looking for new members! The main aim of this group is to ensure young people (up to the age of 25) are heard and have their say in how local health and social care services should be delivered in Northumberland.

Please get in touch for more information or if you have some feedback about a recent experience which you’d like to share with us.
